Wimbledon corporate hospitality news: Nadal begins 2010 with a win
04/01/2010
People enjoying a corporate hospitality experience at Wimbledon in 2010 can expect to see former champion Rafael Nadal back to his best.
The Spaniard won the men's singles title in 2008, defeating Roger Federer in an epic five-set final which Daily Telegraph readers recently voted the sporting event of the decade.
A serious knee injury prevented him from defending his title in 2009 and his poor form on his return to fitness in the closing weeks of the season prompted questions about his future in the sport.
However, Nadal made an early statement of intent by winning the first tournament of 2010 the Capitala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi.
He defeated Sweden's Robin Soderling 7-6, 7-5 in the final, having beaten David Ferrer 7-6, 6-3 in the semi-final.
Tennis fans planning to enjoy a corporate hospitality experience at Wimbledon may be a little concerned by Federer's early season form, as the six-time champion was beaten by Soderling in the semi-finals in Abu Dhabi.
