Wimbledon tickets news: Roger Federer sets up showdown with Andy Murray
29/01/2010
Tennis enthusiasts may be inspired to purchase Wimbledon tickets after watching the Australian Open final clash between Andy Murray and Roger Federer.
The Scot secured his place in Sunday's showpiece event following a four-set victory over Croatian Marin Cilic yesterday (January 28th 2010).
World number one Federer found his opponent Jo Wilfried-Tsonga presented little challenge to stop him progressing to the head-to-head against Murray.
The Swiss brushed aside his rival 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 earlier today to set up the showdown between arguably the two most in-form players on the circuit at present.
Tsonga was gracious in defeat after stepping off court, conceding that he had been totally outplayed by Federer, who was the top seed for the tournament.
"He took the ball earlier than me and he was just better than me," he said. "Today he was really good."
Speaking yesterday, Murray said he was relishing the prospect of facing Federer in the final.
"If I go out there and play my best I think I've got a chance of winning and it's really exciting," he said.
