Javed Miandad bemoans inexperienced Pakistan squad
22/06/2010
Javed Miandad has said Pakistan's selectors should have picked a more experienced squad to take on England in front of fans with Test match tickets.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed that veteran batsman and former captain Younis Khan, as well as Shoaib Akhtar - who was the fastest bowler in the world at one stage of his career - will both miss out on the trip to England.
However, legend of the game Miandad, who is director general of the PCB, said he could not understand why neither man has been chosen to play in front of people with Test match tickets this summer.
He said it is unfair for a team of youngsters to be expected to adapt to tricky English conditions, which will be a world apart from the flat, dry wickets they are used to playing on.
Pakistan will take on Andrew Strauss's side in four Test matches this year, with the first due to get underway at Trent Bridge on July 29th 2010.
