Justin Rose keen to 'nail down' Ryder Cup spot

27/07/2010

Justin Rose has revealed he is keen to secure a place to play in front of fans with Ryder Cup hospitality tickets as soon as possible.

The Englishman is set to compete in the Irish Open in Killarney this week in a bid to improve his chances of making European Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie's team without having to rely on a wild card entry.

Victory in the tournament would go a long way towards guaranteeing the 30-year-old a place in the team to take on the US in front of enthusiasts with Ryder Cup hospitality tickets this October.

Speaking to the Sun, Rose said: "Getting back onto the Ryder Cup team after making my debut two years ago is a big target."

He went on to state that he is desperate to "nail down" a spot in the team as soon as he possibly can.

Rose is competing with the likes of Paul Casey, Padraig Harrington and Edoardo Molinari for automatic selection.
