Kevin Pietersen 'is only one innings away from a return to form'

04/08/2010

Ian Bell has told fans with Test match tickets they should not have long to wait before they see a resurgent Kevin Pietersen.

The South Africa-born batsman has suffered something of a slump of late, having failed to hit a century in the longest form of the game in his last 23 innings.

People with England v Pakistan Test match tickets who witnessed his latest display saw him dismissed for nine in the first innings after being bowled by Mohammad Asif, while he struggled to 22 from 50 delivers in the second innings.

Ian Bell - who is currently out of the Test side through injury - has said he is keeping his fingers crossed that Pietersen gets a little bit of luck in the second game of the series, which gets underway on August 6th 2010.

"As soon as he gets one score I'm sure he'll be back doing what he has been doing for such a long period of time for the team," he was quoted by Sporting Life as saying.
