Lewis Moody still in the dark about England captaincy
02/08/2010
Lewis Moody has restated his desire to be Martin Johnson's captain in matches watched by fans with England rugby tickets.
Having led the side in the closing stages of the 2010 Six Nations and then throughout the recent tour of Australia, the former Leicester Tigers flanker said there is "no greater honour" than being awarded the armband.
Despite managing to draw the series 1-1, Moody revealed he is still not certain whether or not he will retain the captaincy for future games in front of fans with England rugby tickets.
"Johnno never gives much away," he was quoted by the Daily Star as saying.
Moody said his next challenge is to win over his team-mates at new side Bath, whom he joined at the end of last season.
"I have to earn their respect, then earn a place in Johnno's team," he explained.
This latest announcement comes after the back-row forward told Sky Sports News that he would "love" to captain the England side again, if given the chance.
