Luke Wright can do no wrong in record century
10/01/2012
Sussex and England all-rounder Luke Wright has set a new record for the fastest T20 century in Australia's Big Bash league, reaching three figures off just 44 balls.
Playing for Melbourne Stars against Hobart Hurricanes in Tasmania, Wright proved the biggest basher in town as he eventually made 117 off 60 balls, with nine sixes and eight fours.
He helped his team reach 203-3 in their 20 overs and the home side could only manage 184-9 in response.
Wright's brilliance may make fans more interested in hospitality packages when England play their next T20 match at home, when the West Indies are the opponents at Trent Bridge on June 24th.
The two sides met in a short series at the Kia Oval last summer, which finished 1-1,but this year's tour will also feature a three-match Test series, with Trent Bridge also staging one of these.
