Cheltenham Festival corporate tickets news: Commander in 'form of his life'
10/03/2010
Imperial Commander's part-owner has said the horse is in the form of his life ahead of his Gold Cup appearance in front of racing fans with Cheltenham Festival corporate tickets.
While Kauto Star and Denman are the favourites to win the pinnacle race at the Cotswolds event, Imperial Commander has enjoyed success at Cheltenham in the past, having won last year's Ryanair Chase.
And part-owner Hugh Doubtfire said the horse could be in no better condition going into the Gold Cup.
Speaking to At The Races, Doubtfire said Imperial Commander is "possibly better" than when he raced to victory in front of racing enthusiasts with Cheltenham Festival corporate tickets in 2009.
He expressed excitement at competing in the Festival when it gets underway on March 16th 2010, saying: "Just to be part of the Gold Cup this year is fantastic for us and we're really looking forward to it."
Last November, the horse ran Kauto Star close in the Betfair Chase at Haydock, only losing out on the victory following a photo finish.
