England v Barbarians news: Execution must improve, says Eddie Butler
01/03/2010
Martin Johnson must improve his side's all-round game ahead of the England v Barbarians clash.
This is according to veteran rugby correspondent and commentator Eddie Butler, who pointed out that the England team were heavily criticised for kicking away too much possession in the narrow 6 Nations victory over Italy.
And following the February 27th 2010 defeat at Twickenham at the hands of Ireland, they admitted to keeping the ball in hand too often in conditions which were often tricky.
Butler claimed that the important thing for the squad to concentrate on is not the style of play they choose, but the effective execution of their game plan - something which they may need to work on if they are to win the England v Barbarians game on May 30th.
He noted that there is nothing wrong with a kicking game in principle, saying: "Dan Carter does as much of it as any other outside-half in the world and he's not exactly going to go down in history as the Mr Cautious of his day."
