England v Barbarians news: Wilkinson happy with progress of Flutey partnership

10/03/2010

Jonny Wilkinson has issued a warning ahead of the England v Barbarians clash - his partnership with Riki Flutey is close to clicking.

Some pundits have said that the relationship between the stand-off and inside centre is integral to England playing good, aggressive rugby, but the two have yet to find their best form in this year's 6 Nations tournament.

It has lead to Wilkinson receiving criticism from the likes of his former England team-mate Matt Dawson, who queried whether the former Newcastle Falcons star has what it takes to be an effective playmaker and decision-maker.

But the number ten argued that his understanding with Flutey is growing, which could spell trouble for the opposition in the England v Barbarians match at Twickenham on May 30th 2010.

"We are trying to make sure we see more of the field," he was quoted by Press Association Sport as saying.

"[Flutey] knows what I am looking for now and I am trying to understand every day what he is looking for."
