Twickenham hospitality news: Martin Johnson urged to give youth a chance

22/03/2010

Martin Johnson has been urged to give youth a chance ahead of the 2011 World Cup in fixtures such as the England v Barbarians clash in front of fans with Twickenham hospitality tickets.

The England boss chose the final Six Nations clash in Paris against France on March 20th 2010 to drop underperforming stars like Delon Armitage and Jonny Wilkinson, with Ben Foden and Toby Flood drafted in to replace them.

Although France succeeded in grinding out a 12-10 victory, England were not overawed and strung together the best move of the match when Foden scored the only try in the opening minutes.

France defence coach Dave Ellis recommended that Johnson continues with the trend of picking youngsters in preparation for the international tournament next year.

"They should give young players a go and see how they come out at the other end," he said. "Whether they have got enough time to get it right for the World Cup, only time will tell."

The likes of Foden, Flood and Chris Ashton will be hoping Johnson keeps faith with them and selects them for the match in front of fans with England v Barbarians Twickenham hospitality tickets on May 30th 2010.
