Wimbledon tickets news: Andy Murray reaches last eight in Indian Wells
18/03/2010
Britons with Wimbledon tickets may be hoping that Andy Murray enjoys the same smooth progress at SW19 as he has in Indian Wells this week.
The Scot cruised into the quarter-finals of the BNP Paribas Open when Nicolas Almagro retired hurt in the second set of their last 16 clash.
Murray was leading 6-2, 1-0 at the time of the stoppage, having defeated both Michael Russell and Andreas Seppi in straight sets earlier in the tournament.
The Australian Open runner-up now faces last year's French Open finalist Robin Soderling in the last eight, knowing that he has a good chance of securing one of the biggest tournament victories of his career.
Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic are already out, although Murray may still have to beat both Andy Roddick and Rafael Nadal in order to lift the trophy.
Roddick, who featured in the memorable 2009 Wimbledon final, will face Tommy Robredo in the last eight, while Nadal is to take on Tomas Berdych.
The match between Juan Monaco and Djokovic's conqueror Ivan Ljubicic completes the quarter-final line-up.
