Wimbledon tickets news: Novak Djokovic triumphs in Dubai

Tennis enthusiasts with Wimbledon tickets may look forward to seeing Novak Djokovic at the SW19 tournament following his Dubai Tennis Championships victory.

The Serbian star needed two days to see off his rival Mikhail Youzhny in the final of the event, after the scheduled February 27th match was delayed after two sets due to rain.

Djokovic was cruising towards victory before the heavens opened, leading 7-5, 2-0 over the word number 14.

But when play resumed the following day, the Serbian faced a spirited comeback and Youzhny battled from 3-0 down to take the second set 7-5.

However, the world number two eventually proved too strong and won the final set 6-3 to successfully defend his title in a match which Djokovic said was evidence of his never-say-die attitude.

"Today was another good example of how much I believe in myself and how much I fight till the end," he said.

Venus Williams also managed to defend her title following the women's final on February 20th.
