Martin Kaymer keen to partner Rory McIlroy in Ryder Cup
13/09/2010
Martin Kaymer believes he could strike up a successful partnership with Rory McIlroy in front of golf fans with Ryder Cup packages.
The 25-year-old German is set to make his Ryder Cup debut when the contest takes place at Celtic Manor between October 1st and 3rd 2010, as is 21-year-old McIlroy.
While the two golfers lack experience of playing in matches watched by people with Ryder Cup packages, Kaymer still feels they could perform strongly alongside each other.
"I think Rory and me would work really well together," he was quoted by ESPN as saying. "So I think he could be a good foursome partner for me."
He added that Lee Westwood and Luke Donald are also among his top picks for potential pairings.
Since turning pro in 2005, Kaymer has a number of victories to his name on the European Tour, including the KLM Open at the Hilversumsche Golf Course in The Netherlands, which he secured yesterday (September 12th).
