Miguel Angel Jimenez not changing his routine

17/09/2010

Miguel Angel Jimenez has no intention of changing his daily routine in preparation for playing in front of golf fans with Ryder Cup packages.

The Spanish star will be teeing off at Celtic Manor between October 1st and 3rd 2010 in Europe's clash with the US.

Despite the size of the occasion, Jimenez will not be spending the whole of the next fortnight in the gym or on the practice course, but instead is planning to rest, exercise "a little" and eat well.

"You are in the team because you are doing something well. I will have some nice red wine - maybe a special Rioja - and some good cigars, because that's what I always do," the 46-year-old remarked.

One player who has had a rather more strenuous run-up to appearing in front of people with Ryder Cup packages is Lee Westwood, who has been fighting to recover from a ruptured calf muscle.

The Englishman has expressed confidence over his chances of being fit for the contest.
