Andy Murray is safely through to the second round of the French Open, where he will face Jarkko Nieminen.

The world number four shown little sign of a recent back injury and was in impressive form as he beat Japanese debutant Tatsuma Ito in straight sets - losing just seven games in the process.

According to the Scot, his recent turnaround is due to good preparation and the use of older socks - which stop him from slipping around.

However Murray and his socks fare at Roland Garros, those enjoying corporate hospitality at Wimbledon this year will be keen to see the British number one back on home soil.

The 25-year-old hopes to become the first British man since Fred Perry in 1936 to win a grand slam tournament and his impressive displays at SW19 in recent years have shown great promise.

Murray has made it to the semi finals in the past three years at the All England Club.
