Cricket fans planning to enjoy Rose Bowl hospitality during Hampshire games this summer may be delighted to learn overseas player Neil McKenzie is returning.

The South African batsman has confirmed he will be back for a third season in 2012, once he has finished his current commitments with the Highveld Lions.

He will arrive in England in time for the T20 clash with Sussex on June 14th and will be available for the remainder of the season.

McKenzie said: "Last year was tough for the team, particularly as we had hoped to build on what we had achieved in 2010, so I'm looking forward to making some good contributions for the club going forward."

The 36-year-old enjoyed many highlights last year as part of Hampshire's Friends Provident T20 trophy winning team with a score of 52 and the man of the match award in the final against Somerset.

He also made a career best 237 against Yorkshire while putting on a county record partnership of 523 with triple centurion Micheal Carberry.

Fans at the Rose Bowl can also experience the excitement of one-day international cricket this summer, with England playing the West Indies and South Africa.
