ODI tickets news: England announce squad for Australia series
10/06/2010
England's squad to take on Australia in matches watched by fans with ODI tickets has been announced today (June 10th 2010).
The side will take on the Aussies in five ODI matches, with the first set to get underway at the Rose Bowl on June 22nd.
As was previously announced by head coach Andy Flower, Andrew Strauss has retained the captaincy.
James Anderson, who missed the tour to Bangladesh and the 2-0 Test victory over the same side earlier this month, has been reinstated in the squad and is likely to lead the pace bowling attack alongside Stuart Broad, Ryan Sidebottom and Tim Bresnan.
Mike Yardy will join Graeme Swann in making up England's spin options, with the Sussex skipper preferred to James Tredwell despite not having played in front of fans with ODI tickets for almost three years.
As expected, Craig Kieswetter will take his place behind the stumps at the expense of Matt Prior, after Flower compared the latter to former Australia opener Michael Slater.
The coach pointed out that Slater had been an attacking Test batsman who "never really fitted the bill in limited-overs cricket".
