ODI tickets news: Variation key to Mike Yardy's possible selection
09/06/2010
Mike Yardy is hoping the variation he offers with the ball will be enough to give him the chance to play in front of fans with England v AustraliaODI tickets.
The England selectors are tomorrow (June 10th 2010) set to name their squad to take on the Baggy Greens in a five-match 50-over series, which gets underway later this month.
Although James Tredwell and Graeme Swann have traditionally been given the nod to play in front of fans with ODI tickets when England have opted to field two spinners, Yardy hopes he still has a chance of making the team.
The Sussex skipper pointed out that as a left-armer, he offers something different to either of the two other slow bowlers.
"I think I have got something to add to the side," he was quoted by the Argus as saying. "I do take the ball away from the right-handers."
Yardy has been picked to play in matches watched by people with ODI tickets on six occasions, the last of which came against the West Indies back in 2007.
