The Olympic Legacy Company has opened a new bid process for the use of the Olympic stadium after the 2012 games.

Fans enjoying corporate hospitality at London 2012 may wish to see the venue used in a range of ways, although the 2017 World Athletics Championships have already been secured.

The conditions attached include the retention of a running track and chairman of the legacy company Andrew Altman said: "The Olympic Stadium will be a new national stadium for athletics and a multi-purpose venue that can host a full array of sporting, cultural and commercial events."

It has been proposed that any venture would involve Newham Council, who would contribute £40 million and use the facility to help generate employment and increase local participation in sport.

A previous plan would have seen West Ham United taking over the stadium, but this fell through amid threats of legal action from rival bidders Tottenham Hotspur and objections from Leyton Orient, whose Brisbane Road ground lies close to Stratford.
