Golf lovers may be tempted to purchase prestige tickets for the Open Championship after witnessing Lee Westwood's display at the US Masters.
The world number four came close to winning his first major at the Augusta National Golf Club, finishing runner up to Phil Mickelson despite leading going into the final day of play.
Westwood shot a steady one under par, but was blown away by a familiar charge from Mickelson, who finished five under for the day to claim the title by three shots.
Having now finished third or better in each of his last three majors, the 36-year-old may be feeling increasingly confident of his chances in front of fans with prestige tickets for the Open Championship, which gets underway on July 11th 2010.
Despite losing out to Mickelson, Westwood remained positive and expressed confidence for future events.
"I can still get better in all aspects of the game and just fine tune everything. It's a very fine line between finishing second and winning," he said.
