The England cricket team may need to up their game as Somerset captain Marcus Trescothick stated the Pakistan v Australia match-up at Lords should be taken as a warning by the Brits that they are a true threat in the upcoming Test series.

Speaking to the Evening Post, he described Mohammad Asif as "the most skilful seamer in world cricket" and went on to note that Mohammad Aamer is displaying real signs of potential.

Regarding the teenager, Trescothick said that what had at first seemed like just pure pace had evolved in later games to show an intelligence that belied his age - news which may not be welcome to British holders of Test match tickets

"I still fancy England to beat Pakistan, but to do so they will need to impose themselves on the series from the start," he concluded.

The tourists' squad was recently named by the Pakistan Cricket Board, with Salman Butt, Yasir Hameed, Imran Furhat, Azhar Ali and Umar Amin just some of the chosen few.
