Paul Sackey chasing international recall

10/08/2010

Paul Sackey is eager to represent England in front of RFU hospitality ticketholders in the near future.

The winger has not represented Martin Johnson's side since the 2009 Six Nations campaign and has decided to ditch Premiership rugby to play for Toulon in France.

Speaking to ESPN, the 30-year-old said he is hopeful that if he plays to the best of ability for his new club, people with RFU hospitality packages could see him back in the national side before too long.

"I am relishing the challenge of coming here and playing alongside some of the best players in the world, some real superstars," Sackey said. "Hopefully my form can get me back in Martin Johnson's plans."

However, the former Wasps star added he is keen to focus on playing well for his club, rather than worrying too much about an international recall.

Sackey missed out on a place in either the recently announced Elite Player Squad, or the second-string England Saxons line-up.
