Royals look to continue good form against Kent

30/06/2011

Hampshire fans who will be Rose Bowl hospitality guests for the visit of Kent to Southampton tonight (June 30th) may be hoping to see the home side continue their run of good form.

The Royals have lost just one of their ten games so far in the Friends Life T20 and will be likely to name an unchanged team from that which comprehensively triumphed over Sussex on Monday.

This will mean overseas player Shahid Afridi will have the opportunity to continue the run of form that has seen the all-rounder take eight wickets in his last two matches.

He may be pleased to be able to make such an important contribution after he was forced to miss the start of the T20 campaign due to dispute with the Pakistani Cricket Board that led to the organisation revoking their consent for him to play in the tournament, although they have since resolved their differences.

Afridi may be one individual who is very familiar with the danger posed to Hampshire by his fellow countryman Azhar Mahmood, who hit 106 for Kent recently against Gloucestershire.
