Rugby World Cup hospitality news: 'Magician' may not be fit for Argentina

17/03/2011

Fans of England and Scotland looking for Rugby World Cup hospitality places have heard that Argentinean danger man Juan Martin Hernandez may not be fit for the finals.

Both nations will face the South American side in Pool B of the competition and fans may keep a close eye on the progress of the injured Hernandez.

Surgeons have suggested that the 28-year-old, who is known as the Magician, will be out of action for at least five months.

If this is the case, the Racing-Metro star would face a race against time to be fit for the tournament, which starts in New Zealand in September 2011.

"Everything went well. It was a difficult operation and we are now hoping that the body does its work in terms of healing," head surgeon Dr Mario Larrain told AFP following the knee ligament operation.

There is still an element of confusion surrounding some of the game locations in Pool B, as it was reported yesterday (March 16th 2011) that matches scheduled for Christchurch would have to be moved following the recent earthquake.
