Ryder Cup is 'huge goal' for Ross Fisher
02/08/2010
British golfer Ross Fisher has his sights set on a first appearance in the Ryder Cup this year thanks to a win at the Irish Open.
Those with Ryder Cup packages could get to see the 29-year-old, who will be competing for a place in Colin Montgomerie's European squad in the run up to the competition.
Fisher went from 13th to sixth place in the running yesterday (August 1st 2010) thanks to a two-shot victory over Padraig Harrington to lift the Irish Open title.
"Now I want to go out there and prove that this wasn't a fluke - I want to try and contend the next two weeks if I can," he told the news provider.
Graeme McDowell recently announced that he will be putting in his best performance while preparing for the Ryder Cup by delaying celebrations for his win at Palm Beach in Florida and concentrating on the tournament.
