Sri Lanka recall Jayasuriya for ODIs
Kia Oval hospitality guests attending the England v Sri Lanka One-Day International may get the chance to watch one of world cricket's veteran all-rounders take to the field, as the tourists have recalled Sanath Jayasuriya.
The 41-year-old's career had looked to be over after he was left out of the country's squad for the World Cup earlier this year, but he has been brought back into the setup for the series that gets underway later this month.
Captain Tilakaratne Dilshan is a doubt for the start of the limited overs series after fracturing his thumb in the second test, while opener Upul Tharanga has been ruled out as he faces a disciplinary hearing for a failed drugs test.
Also provisionally included in the squad is all-rounder Angelo Matthews, who will have to prove his fitness, while paceman Lasith Malinga will return to the team.
The series against Sri Lanka may mark the start of a new era for the England side, as they look for success under new one-day captain Alastair Cook, who has replaced Andrew Strauss.
