Steven Davies 'has David Gower's silky technique'

15/09/2010

Steven Davies has been tipped to continue shining in front of fans with England cricket tickets for the ODI series against Pakistan.

Chris Adams, professional cricket manager at Davies's county Surrey, claimed that playing in limited overs internationals for the national side has provided the wicketkeeper-batsman with the platform he needed to show of his ability.

According to Adams, the 24-year-old former Worcestershire star plays in a similar way to England legend David Gower, thanks to his "silky" technique.

"Whereas some players go searching for the ball, he plays it very late on the rise and that's an extremely rare talent - of which there is not much around the world at the moment," he commented.

Davies has played three ODIs and averages 39.33 with the bat, with a highest score of 87 in the first ODI clash with Pakistan in Durham.

England cricket tickets customers should get the opportunity to see Davies in action during the third ODI at the Brit Insurance Oval on Friday (September 17th 2010).
