Strauss keen to rediscover form

Cricket fans who will be Lord's hospitality guests for the test against India later this summer may be hoping that captain Andrew Strauss can use the final game of the series against Sri Lanka to find some form before the arrival of the world's top team.

The opening batsman admitted he has not been happy with his own batting performance so far in the series, which has seen him make a top score of 20 in his three innings at an average of just eight.

"I was frustrated with my returns at Lord's but that's the nature of the beast as an opening batsman," he said.

However, he added he is feeling comfortable with his own game and is more than satisfied with the way England's batting unit is performing as a whole.

Strauss said it is unrealistic to expect all seven batsmen to hit top form at the same time, but is hopeful he can find a few runs at the top of the order in the final test against Sri Lanka, which gets underway today, so as to set the tone for the rest of the team.
