Andrew Strauss has welcomed Mike Yardy's contribution to games watched by people with ODI tickets

Despite England losing by 78 runs in the penultimate game of the five-match series, captain Strauss said there were still some positives which could be taken from the result.

Among them was Yardy's rapid 57, which he struck from just 63 balls to leave England with a chance of a fourth successive 50-over victory against the Baggy Greens.

Strauss said it was good to see the Sussex star adding a contribution with the bat to his previous strong performances bowling slow left arm spin.

"He stepped up to the plate - and on the back of his bowling in the first three games, it was good to see him scoring some runs," the England captain commented.
