England cricket captain Andrew Strauss has spelled out his determination to enjoy further Ashes glory against Australia before he hangs up his bat for good.

The 34-year-old skipper has masterminded series wins against the Baggy Greens at home in 2009 and down under last winter, but he is hungry for more.

Strauss told BBC Radio 5 Live that his aim is to remain in charge of the team for two more battles with the Aussies – on home soil in 2013 and away 18 months later.

However, he has admitted he will need to remain in good form for that "realistic goal" to be achieved as there is plenty of cricket to be played in the meantime.

Those who book hospitality packages at Lord's for the Tests against the West Indies and South Africa next summer will be able to see the left hander take his first steps towards retaining his place for the next Ashes series.

Strauss's contribution to last winter's 3-1 victory down under included a score of 110 in the first Test at Brisbane.
