Stuart Broad prepares for Pakistan Test with career-best figures

23/07/2010

Stuart Broad prepared for his next appearance in front of fans with Test match tickets by taking career-best figures in the county championship.

In a rare outing for Nottinghamshire, the seamer took eight wickets in the second innings of their match against Warwickshire at Edgbaston to bowl the hosts out for just 100.

He was only denied a crack at claiming all ten scalps in the innings when ex-South Africa star Andre Nel dismissed number nine batsman Neil Carter.

Prior to playing in front of fans with England v Pakistan Test match tickets next week, Broad revealed that his team-mate Graeme Swann had been impressed by the amount of movement he managed to generate.

"Swanny said from second slip that it was the most he'd seen me swing the ball for a couple of years," the bowler was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying.

Pakistan have themselves looked in impressive form with the ball, after bowling out Australia for just 88 in the first innings of the second Test on Wednesday (July 21st 2010).
