Team Europe are Ryder Cup favourites, says Phil Mickelson

Phil Mickelson has acknowledged the US team will have their work cut out to beat Europe in front of fans with Ryder Cup packages this year.
The world number two said that whoever captain Corey Pavin has at his disposal to represent the US, Colin Montgomerie's European side will probably still start as favourites, particularly given that the contest takes place in Wales.
"I think the US is going to have a difficult time going onto their soil and doing it," Mickelson remarked.
Despite this, the 40-year-old said fans with Ryder Cup packages would be foolish to write off the side's chances, stating: "I wouldn't put anything past the US team.
"I expect us to be sharp and ready for it."
Back in June, Graeme McDowell said the Europeans should have enough to overcome their counterparts from across the Atlantic and claimed the Celtic Manor course is better suited to their style of play.
He said Europe's best golfers are better than their US rivals at driving the ball.
