<title>Tendulkar nears milestone</title>

Sachin Tendulkar is poised to become the first man ever to record 100 centuries in international cricket, as the Test match in Mumbai drifts towards a draw.

Responding to the West Indies' total of 590, India coasted to 281-3 by the close of the third day, with Tendulkar not out with 67 on his home ground.

While India and the world wait to see if the record-breaking batsman can reach the landmark, Darren Bravo has already made his mark on the match with a score of 166, signalling the potential treat fans enjoying corporate hospitality may have in store during the Lords Test match against the Caribbean side next summer.

And despite the high team scores, his is the only century so far, with seven players having passed 50 without reaching three figures.

Bravo may harbour hopes of emerging as a star whose status matches that of Tendulkar, or indeed that of Brian Lara, with whom his batting style has been compared.

Should the youngster make a Test century at Lords, he will achieve something neither Lara nor Tendulkar have ever managed.
