Test match heads for tense climax
27/01/2012
The second Test between Pakistan and England in the UAE could be set for a nail-biting climax after another see-sawing day in Abu Dhabi.
Pakistan ended the day on 125-4, just 55 in front, after England were finally bowled out for 327 in their first innings, a lead of 70.
After taking 4-47 with the ball in the first innings, Stuart Broad hit an aggressive 58 not out to ensure a handy lead, before three wickets from Panesar and one from Swann left Pakistan in deep trouble at 54-4.
But an unbroken stand of 70 by Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq ensured that England still have work to do to level the series as they face the prospect of batting last on a turning pitch.
Fans keen to see more Test match heroics from Stuart Broad may wish to choose his home ground of Trent Bridge, where England play the West Indies in May.
Last year saw the Nottinghamshire all-rounder take a match-turning hat-trick against India.
