Test match tickets news: Eoin Morgan backs himself for five-day success

21/05/2010

Eoin Morgan is confident he can take his glittering limited-overs performances into matches watched by fans with Test match tickets.

The Irishman was a major factor in the recent World Twenty20 victory in the Caribbean, which was the first time England have won an international tournament in 34 years of trying.

However, critics have warned that his aggressive style may not be suited to games watched by fans with Test match tickets.

Despite this negativity and the challenge he faces in overtaking England's current top six batsmen, Morgan has said he is confident he can make the transition to the longest form of the game.

Speaking to Press Association Sport, he commented: "I certainly think I'm capable of playing Test cricket.

"I have never been in better form myself and I have some scores under my belt so hopefully I'll be given a chance."

Morgan will be hoping to get the nod for the two-match Bangladesh Test series, which gets underway on May 27th 2010, as well as the four games against Pakistan later this year.
