Test match tickets news: Flower won't pigeonhole Eoin Morgan
06/05/2010
Andy Flower has insisted Eoin Morgan has a real chance of playing in matches watched by fans with Test match tickets in the future.
The 23-year-old has arguably been England's stand-out player at the World Twenty20 in the Caribbean, having top-scored against hosts the West Indies with 55 from just 35 balls.
He showed a more mature side to his game in the narrow victory over Ireland, the country of his birth, salvaging the innings with 45 from 37 deliveries.
It is hard to argue that Morgan's performances in Twenty20 cricket have been impressive, as he now holds an average of 55.4 and a strike rate of almost 147.
However, England coach Flower stated the Irishman should not be written off as a limited overs specialist and said he may have the chance to appear in front of fans with Test match tickets in the coming years.
"I wouldn't want to pigeonhole the guy because there are all sorts of things he could achieve in his career and he has only just started it," the Zimbabwean said.
