Test match tickets news: Jonathan Trott hits double ton against Bangladesh

28/05/2010

Jonathan Trott may have staked his place in the England line-up for matches watched by fans with Test match tickets.

The South Africa-born batsman struck 20 boundaries on his way to 226 in the first England v Bangladesh Test match at Lord's, helping Andrew Strauss's men to post a commanding first-innings score of 505.

Perhaps more impressive is the speed with which England accumulated their runs. Fans with Test match tickets watched on as Trott scored at a strike rate of 64.75, while the whole side kept the scoreboard ticking at more than four an over throughout.

However, despite the fact that every batsman except Alastair Cook made it into double figures, Andrew Strauss was the only other man to pass 50.

Meanwhile, Test debutant Eoin Morgan showed another side of his game to the one he displayed in England's victorious World Twenty20 campaign, reaching 44 from 80 balls before he was caught behind off the bowling of Shahadat Hossain, who picked up five wickets in the innings.
