Test match tickets news: Matt Prior 'is Test side's number one keeper'
01/04/2010
Matt Prior will not be ousted from the England team before they take on Bangladesh in front of fans with Test match tickets, Alastair Cook has said.
England's current wicketkeeper for the five-day form of the game has come under increasing pressure from South Africa-born glovesman Craig Kieswetter in recent times.
The 22-year-old's impressive performances under the captaincy of Cook in Bangladesh have seen him named as the only keeper in England's 15-man squad for the World Twenty20, which gets underway in the Caribbean at the end of the month.
But Cook claimed that Prior is still the favourite to retain the role when England take on Bangladesh in front of fans with Test match tickets, a series which begins on May 27th 2010.
Speaking to BBC Sport, the opening batsman said Prior is "firmly number one" in the Test side.
"It's going to take a huge amount of effort to knock him out of the team," he added.
