Tim Bresnan 'should be fit for Pakistan series'
01/12/2011
England cricketer Tim Bresnan has undergone surgery on an elbow injury, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has said.
However, the all-rounder is expected to recover from his operation by the new year and will be available for the tour of the United Arab Emirates, where England play Pakistan in a series of Test matches and limited-over games.
The ECB stated that Bresnan has had a piece of bone removed from the joint after the problem - which first arose in the recent one-day international series in India - failed to settle.
England have won all eight of the Test matches in which Bresnan has played and those keen to see if the Yorkshireman can keep up the winning habit might wish to book hospitality packages for next summer's Test at the Kia Oval when South Africa are the visitors.
The last Test between the two sides in England was at the London venue and ended in a six-wicket win for the home side.
