Twenty20 tickets news: England break limited overs trophy duck
17/05/2010
England's victory over Australia could inspire fans to book Twenty20 tickets after Paul Collingwood's men secured their first limited overs trophy in 34 years of trying.
After captain Collingwood won the toss and elected to field in the final of the World Twenty20, the Aussies were immediately under the cosh thanks to some disciplined bowling from openers Ryan Sidebottom and Tim Bresnan.
Shane Watson, David Warner and Brad Haddin all departed in quick succession to leave Australia struggling on eight for three and only some spirited late hitting from the Hussey brothers and Cameron White helped them to a defendable total of 147 for six.
But with man of the match Craig Kieswetter firing on all cylinders, the target never looked beyond England. The wicketkeeper-batsman eventually departed for 63 with his side on the cusp of victory and Collingwood and Eoin Morgan were able to guide the team home with 18 balls to spare.
The next time fans with Twenty20 tickets will be able to see England in action will come in the September 5th and 7th 2010 clashes with Pakistan in Cardiff.
