18/05/2010

Paul Collingwood has promised fans who buy England v PakistanTwenty20 tickets that they could see an even better team than the one which stormed to victory in the Caribbean.

The England captain led his side to glory in the World Twenty20 last weekend, breaking their 34-year wait for silverware in limited-overs cricket.

But while he acknowledged that his players have every right to enjoy their success, the all-rounder said he is eager for them to lift their game even further in future matches watched by fans with Twenty20 tickets.

"Good teams kick on and that's exactly what we'll get drilled into the guys," Collingwood said. "We've got a lot more potential as well, that's the scary part about it. We can go even further."

England's next match to be watched by fans with Twenty20 tickets will come on September 5th 2010 against Pakistan in Cardiff.

Prior to that, the side will return to action in the longer form of the game with Test series against Bangladesh and Pakistan.
