Twenty20 tickets news: IPL experience will help England, says Andrew Strauss

28/04/2010

Andrew Strauss believes England's players with Indian Premier League (IPL) experience will stand the side in good stead in matches watched by fans with Twenty20 tickets.

The likes of Twenty20 captain Paul Collingwood, Kevin Pietersen and Ravi Bopara all played for franchises during the recent tournament, with Bopara in particular impressing with an 84-run knock against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Strauss, who leads England in the longer forms of the game, believes this could prove vital if England are to achieve success in front of fans with Twenty20 tickets in the future, starting at the World Twenty20 tournament in the West Indies.

"We have got some good balance in the side and some big hitters at the top of the order," the opening batsman told Cricket World. "We have got a lot of experience."

Following the World Twenty20, England's next games to be watched by fans with Twenty20 tickets will take place against Pakistan in Cardiff on September 5th and 7th 2010.
