Twenty20 tickets news: Kevin Pietersen back to his best in IPL
15/04/2010
Kevin Pietersen's return to his attacking best in the Indian Premier League (IPL) may inspire cricket fans to purchase Twenty20 tickets.
By his own high standards, the aggressive right-hander has been short of form in recent times and was dropped from Royal Challengers Bangalore's starting line-up for three successive matches, with Kiwi batsman Ross Taylor drafted in to replace him.
But brought back into the team for the clash against Rajasthan Royals, Pietersen looked back to something approaching his peak.
He smashed 62 from just 29 deliveries, including a straight six off the bowling of his former Hampshire team-mate Shane Warne in the 11th over.
The innings not only helped Bangalore to a comfortable five-wicket victory, but also bodes well for England as they take on Pakistan in front of fans with Twenty20 tickets later this year.
It will also come as a boost prior to the forthcoming World Twenty20 tournament, which gets underway in the West Indies at the end of the month.
