Twenty20 tickets news: Shoaib Akhtar eyes return to action in England

13/04/2010

Shoaib Akhtar is aiming for a return to international cricket in front of fans with Twenty20 tickets in England this summer.

The temperamental pace man, who broke world records for bowling the fastest recorded delivery of all time at 100.2 miles per hour, has said he is back to full fitness and is keen to play in Pakistan's series against Australia.

Pakistan will take on the Aussies in England as they are not allowed to play international matches at home due to safety concerns.

He last played in front of fans with Twenty20 tickets almost a year ago against Australia and has not featured in the Test side since December 2007.

Despite missing out on his country's World Twenty20 squad, Akhtar expressed confidence that he could return to the fold for the trip to the UK.

"The England tour would be the perfect place for me to come back as it has good conditions for bowling and the best facilities for a bowler coming back from an injury," he was quoted by Cricket365 as saying.
