Twickenham tickets news: Lewis Moody eyeing England captaincy

07/05/2010

Lewis Moody has suggested he is keen to captain England in matches watched by fans with Twickenham tickets in the future.

The flanker, who will play his club rugby at Bath next season, was called on by England coach Martin Johnson to captain the national side during the Six Nations clash with France earlier this year.

With Steve Borthwick, the man who usually wears the armband, ruled out of the team's summer tour to the Southern hemisphere, Moody has said he would be more than happy to continue in the role.

"If I were asked to do the job again, I'd absolutely love it," he told the Telegraph, although he stressed he has yet to be contacted by the England hierarchy regarding the matter.

Should Moody be named in the role, it could pave the way for him to retain the captaincy in future matches watched by fans with Twickenham hospitality tickets, such as the autumn internationals later this year.
