Twickenham tickets news: Olly Barkley eyeing England return
26/04/2010
Olly Barkley's chances of playing for England in front of fans with Twickenham tickets may have been boosted by his display in Bath's 35-19 win over Wasps.
The inside centre, who can also play at fly-half, has not been capped for two years following a miserable spell at Bath's West Country rivals Gloucester.
But he was inspirational in the Wasps clash, which took place in front of fans with Twickenham tickets, scoring a try and helping to create two more.
It has led pundits to speculate that Barkley could be pressing for inclusion in England's summer tour of the southern hemisphere in the absence of regular number 12 Riki Flutey, who will miss the trip due to a shoulder operation.
He told the Mirror: "I've never given up on England and I'd love to go on the tour."
If he can impress in the games against Australia and New Zealand Maori, it could stand him in good stead for selection in future matches watched by fans with Twickenham tickets, such as the autumn internationals.
