Wales need to record a win during the Test series in Australia to continue their development as potential future world champions, according to winger Jonathan Davies.

Davies scored a try in the Melbourne encounter as the Welsh were edged out 25-23, but said coming close to winning was not enough.

He remarked: "I think for the development of this squad to the autumn we have to make sure we get a victory and ensure we keep focused."

Fans booking Millennium Stadium Hospitality for Wales games held in coming months will be hoping the side can roll over the Aussies in the final Test in Sydney on Saturday (June 23rd).

The Welsh loss in Melbourne was one of a series of very narrow defeats suffered by northern hemisphere sides against southern sides last weekend.

England went down 36-27 in Johannesburg to South Africa despite a storming second-half comeback, while Ireland came very close to upsetting the All Blacks in Christchurch before finally going down 22-19.

However, Argentina's 23-20 win over World Cup finalists France was more of a shock.
