West Indies in thrilling win over India
06/12/2011
The West Indies cricket team offered a hint that they may pose a tough challenge to England in the one-day international series next summer with a 16-run victory over world champions India in Ahmedabad.
Set 261 to win, India could only muster 244 despite Rohit Sharma's 95, with their chase hampered when both Virender Sehwag and Virat Kohli suffered first ball dismissals against Ravi Rampaul, who finished with 4-57.
It was the kind of triumph that proved beyond England during their recent visit to India, where they were whitewashed 5-0.
Those enjoying hospitality packages at the Rose Bowl on June 16th may be keen to see if the Caribbean side can be as competitive in English conditions.
Fans sampling the Rose Bowl atmosphere were able to do so in a Test match setting for the first time earlier this year, when the ground became the tenth in England to host such a game as England played Sri Lanka.
