Wimbledon hospitality news: Andy Murray set for Monte Carlo Open
12/04/2010
Andy Murray will be hoping he can reverse his recent slump in form at the Monte Carlo Open in preparation for playing to fans with Wimbledon hospitality tickets.
The British number one has had a disappointing start to 2010, losing in the final of the Australian Open to Roger Federer before crashing out in the second round of the Sony Ericsson Open to veteran Mardy Fish, the world's number 101.
He will be hoping to reverse this losing trend in Monaco, a tournament in which he made it to the last four 12 months ago.
In the absence of Federer from the bill, the 23-year-old goes into the Monte Carlo Open as third seed, but will face tough competition from the likes of Ivan Ljubicic, David Ferrer and Jurgen Melzer.
A strong showing in Monaco give him a boost ahead of his performance in front of fans with Wimbledon hospitality tickets later this year.
Tomas Berdych, David Nalbandian and Nicolas Almagro are among the early winners at the tournament to have progressed to the second round.
